Expedition to Lalbagh

Finally.....
Blessed with a bright sunnyday, plans of going to Lalbagh with my cam beared fruits, and I must say sweet fruits... :)

Lots of varied snaps with some simple settings, made my day. I was completely overwhelmed seeing so many subjects and at one time also burried my feet into a pool of mud.... :). Well, I dont mind, unless it gives me a butterfly resting on the flower or the swan coming nearer to the bank of the lake where I stood.

I would present the trip into different parts and try to classify them

1. Sun rays through the leaves

I tried to get some good photos, not sure if i have a good job. (need some feedback on this one atleast... :) )

White Water Birds and Flock of Pigeons

Below is the pic of a flemingo spreading it's wings to take off. Not a very clear shot, but that's the max I could do to get an instanteneous one.....

Trailing...

This was the most wonderful sight...... :)

Flora

Loved the color brightness and softness of the flower. The next pic is a zoomed in version of the same, and you can see, there are very mild lines/no lines on the petals of the flower. Love the simplicity of it.

                                                                           Close-up

Well, i would call it a maroon rocket flower, coz it resembles like one.... :)
(If you know the name of this flower, please help me out.)

This is one of the flowers in the inflorescence. The picture of the inflorescence is just below this one

Below: The center of the flower is more interesting, see the next pic...

Below: They look like aliens with yellow lips.. Some of them even seem to have small white eyes....

Fruits

There were lot of Cheeku/Sapota trees fruit laden in the botanical garden. They looked quite splendid.

With lighting

Look at the fresh light green leaves and the older and darker ones. Looks so good.

The close up of the single

I don't know which fruit was this, but I saw, it was on a creeper. More so resembling a mini version of Watermelon as per my sister.

A bunch of them

Again, this was like a chain of green drops, and i dont know the name.
(Most of them were wild plants and creepers, very difficult to know the names but will surely update once known)

Looked like amla, but they aren't....

Cuter Insects and Animals

After almost 10 clicks, just managed to get on decent picture of this leopard print yellow butterfly.

The squirrel

Awwwww..... this was my first reaction as well... :)

Dont they look cute..... Cute little sibblings

Loved the eyes of the blackie... Cutie pies.

Thanks to my cousin for asking me to click this one
Wait for it.....

Love the contrasting colors esp the orange dot on her face with the expression and the pile of cut peices of wood and the contrasting violet saree. This picture was the highest point of the day.

Standing pose

Look at the bag she is carrying.... :) Interesting, isnt it???

Shadow.....

It was yet another good learning expereience with my camera. Hope i will come up with something good again very soon. I need more Holidays !!!! :)

Dragon Fly

Yesterday, i had a guest at my house. Uninvited and discolored. But the wings of the insect was so well patterned that, well, I had to take out my cam.
And with great difficulty, I was able to take the pics. Since it was placed on the wall, just near the tube light, most of my pictures were overexposed.
In aperture mode, f5.6 and ISO 200, I kept on trying to focus as my one foot was placed on one arm of the chair and other hanging somehere in the air. Very difficult to shoot, and I kept on trying to keep my hand as stable as possible and finally, after numerous clicks, I got what i wanted.

After rains.....

My plans for a bright day outing to click some snaps was all in vain with the usual unexpected rains......
Well, i was free and had made up my mind, and saw this beautiful white hibiscus flower infront of my house. Was there any reason for me not to just take my camera and start clicking... To be accurate, i continued clicking, till the fully charged battery showed "low battery". I was really excited seeing the final output on my laptop.
I learnt one thing - it would be very very difficult for me to follow the settings for each snap I take, as per noted from the various "google"ing done. But it is mostly, trying with various settings that yields me what I actually want my eyes to be treated with. Atleast for an amatuer.
Sooooooo.... As the saying goes - "Charity begins at home"... For me - "Photography begins near home". :)
